He was previously attending physician in the ER and deployed as the Officer in Charge of Shock Trauma Platoon-1, 2nd FSSG, Camp LeJuene, NC, to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He has been deployed several times and involved in multiple projects involving IED blast injuries. He published research in swine modeling of combat hemorrhage and has authored several other publications. He is a recognized subject matter expert for these injuries with multiple US & foreign government agencies. His Irish ancestors come from Youghal Co. Cork.
